The Lake Como Tri is in its third year and takes place in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley. Competitors get to swim 1500 yards in the Lake Como and then hop on their bikes for 12.6 miles on forest service roads and trails. The views at the top are spectacular but there is a good uphill prior to the overlook. The run portion winds around Lake Como along a forest service trail for 7.7 miles, ending on top of the outflow dam. If you are looking for an xterra type triathlon, this is on you wont want to miss.
Post Race Wrap Up
This race takes place in one of the most scenic places in Western Montana, just north of Darby, MT. This years race saw the repeat of the mens and womens winners from 2010. Cory Soulliard returned to defend his title and bested his previous years time by two minutes. Local Darby product Kara Dewalt also defended her women's title and shaved 11 seconds off of her previous years time.
